My days move at breakneck speed towards this large challenge, but my heart does not always keep up with the action, and sometimes, as a result, my feet simply stop.

What becomes visible once you act

When I hit a wall on something, I have always tried to find even one small action I could take. But the more I act, the more walls appear, the more negative things come in — acting reveals a world with plenty of good in it and plenty of bad.

But that is learning you can only get by acting, and I notice that, underneath it, everything is decided by my own heart.

Changing your own field

I love flying. I once heard that moving 3,000 km changes a life.

There is apparently data showing that the more you move, the higher your sense of wellbeing rises too.

Going somewhere new gives you all sorts of stimulus beyond simply acting in the same place. That stimulus trains the brain and relieves stress too.

Making your purpose clear, and putting down heavy baggage

However clearly you think you have pictured your goal, there are times you simply cannot move forward.

When you hit a wall, it is easy to assume the cause lies in other people or in circumstances. But very often, the cause actually lies inside yourself.

The other day, going on a business trip, once I made clear exactly what it was for, the luggage I needed to bring dropped sharply.

Even when I think I have my goals and dreams clearly in view, I notice I am carrying unnecessary baggage I had not expected — comparing myself with other people, or my own insistence on things.

What I had thought I needed turned out, in truth, to be things I did not need at all.

In the same way, putting down the baggage of comparison and insistence taught me that things are, in truth, simple.
