Happy New Year 2024!
At last! This is the year the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge 2024 finally opens!

Just imagining standing at the start line, carrying everyone's thoughts with me, is already enough to make me buzz with excitement. Pushing forward headlong like this, there were times things flipped upside down like some slapstick comedy sketch,
and times that felt like sailing straight into rough seas.

And then, on 14 December last year, as one final act of resolve, I safely finished my cancer surgery.
I've started a new category on the blog, and I'm putting together short videos to show you my healthy, energetic self again too, so please take a look at those as well.

Bringing you the “unfiltered truth,” on video!

I'd always meant to keep sharing my experiences and the “unfiltered truth” all along, but going into this cancer fight, I genuinely received an overwhelming amount of encouragement.
I'd always thought of myself as only on the receiving end of that support, but getting so many heartfelt comments — “thank you for giving me courage,” or “I found hope to live again and got back on my feet” — became a moment where knowing my experience was actually helping someone else pushed me forward, hard, in turn.

It's already been six years since I decided to take on this challenge.
Years of postponements from world events, from all sorts of hardship, the fight with illness… the road toward this challenge was never a flat, easy one, and I really have gotten to learn and experience so much through it.
These past several years working toward the challenge may well have been a challenge in their own right.

On this blog, I'll keep sharing every single moment of that journey of a life, going forward too.
The things I've learned and felt walking an unknown road, and myself, still continuing to grow — I hope to keep sharing all of it, exactly as it is, “unfiltered.”

Thank you for your support again this year. New Year's Day, 2024 — Komo-chan
