I started this blog back when I first sketched out the grand adventure and dream of driving from Peking to Paris, but I wanted to leave behind a record of everything I've thought through and acted on along the way of this challenge.

May the things people have taught me, the realizations I've had through experience, reach not just me, but someone else's heart too…

This time's theme is

“the things I hold important in living my life.”

Trusting yourself

I was born sick, and raised to be pretty spoiled. My parents never compared me to anyone or denied who I was — for them, it was enough that I was simply alive.
Maybe it's because someone believed in me that I'm able to believe in myself now! It's okay 👌 you're going to be okay too.

Leaning on people, letting yourself be helped

Being a “charmer” can sometimes get taken the wrong way, but honestly, I think it's a good thing too.
If the other person smiles and that makes me smile too, that's all I need. To me that just means “good at communicating” — someone good at being liked, good at getting close to people.

Not pushing yourself too hard, resting

This one's honestly the hardest for me, but getting sick can also be god's way of forcing a shutdown, telling you to rest a little! To avoid getting to that point, I've learned how important it is to stop and pause sometimes. There are things you only notice about the world once you actually stop and look.

Keeping up what you can

You don't need some huge goal or dream.
Just one thing, every single day, that you can actually do right now — keep doing that.
It's fine to slack off along the way. Just keep coming back to it.

Never forgetting to have fun

Find something fun in everything. When you're torn over a choice, pick whichever one makes you laugh! Even if it's a little ridiculous, even if people roll their eyes and laugh at you — that's fine.

My conclusion! Just being alive already makes you great.

There are days you want to quit on life. Life's a place to learn, after all, so of course it gets exhausting sometimes.
On days like that, give yourself some credit!
Because just being alive already makes you great.
