Statistics point the way… a reading is basically just a way of checking in with your own heart.

What pushed me toward this challenge was a certain reading.

Somehow… the environment that is Japan and my own inner axis seem to be out of alignment.

And so! To take one more step forward, I’m off to enter a rally.

This time I’m entering the “GP Nuvolari,” one of the world’s foremost classic car rallies, held in honor of Tazio Nuvolari, the greatest racing driver Italy ever produced.

If you ever ask who the fastest driver in racing history was, Nuvolari is a name that’s guaranteed to come up.

In honor of the greatest racing driver Italy ever produced, after his death the Mille Miglia began routing through Mantua, his hometown.

So much so that the fastest driver through that stretch of the route is awarded a prize called the “Gran Premio (GP) Nuvolari.”

Since 1991, the GP Nuvolari has been revived as a classic car rally in the same spirit as the Mille Miglia.

This time too, it was honestly Nuvolari’s sheer, overwhelming brilliance that drew me in. (Probably.) Laughs.

That said… I flew to Italy straight off hard work just hours before, so the moment I sat down on the plane I basically blacked out. Laughs.

After sleeping 12 out of a 14-hour flight, I somehow felt strangely relaxed once I landed in Italy (usually it's the other way around, right, laughs), and ended up sleepwalking — or really, sleep-tripping — across Italy’s cobblestones, and Komo-chan went right down.

It’s honestly a little unnerving that there hasn’t been any kind of misadventure so far. Laughs.

For now, I’ve arrived at Mantua, the rally venue!

I’ll keep posting updates as things go on from here.
