This blog is a record that began the moment I first sketched out the grand adventure and dream of driving from Peking to Paris, but my actual job is as a communication instructor, flying all over the country, bringing smiles to all sorts of people.
I wanted to leave behind a record of what someone like me has thought through and acted on along the way of this challenge. May the things people have taught me, the realizations I've had through experience, reach not just me, but someone else's heart too…

This time's theme is!

Are foolish people just lucky?

For me, being called “a fool” is actually a compliment.

It's not “fool” in the sense of being unintelligent.
I take it to mean someone living purely, throwing themselves headlong into things without holding back.

Because you can't be bothered calculating gain and loss or worrying about what others think… you might come across as selfish, or get treated like a fool, at a glance.

But here's the thing.

The more foolish someone is, the luckier they tend to be.
Because! People end up cheering them on, enormously.

Think about it — when an athlete throws themselves headlong into a match, or kids get completely absorbed in trying something new, you want to cheer them on too, right?

The more foolish someone is, the luckier they tend to be.
People end up cheering them on, enormously.
And that ends up carrying chances their way too.

When you're pushing forward headlong like that,
there are times things flip upside down like some slapstick comedy sketch,
and times that feel like sailing straight into rough seas.

Getting pointed at, getting laughed at…
crying, laughing, genuinely busy the whole time.

But you know, maybe that's exactly the kind of person God ends up wanting to root for!

So, how about you? Are you living headlong, right now?
